Interactive Learning in Natural Language Processing

In my third-year undergraduate module on natural language processing, I introduced an exercise to help students understand the importance of context in language models. Students inputted the transcript of a lecture into a generative AI engine and attempted to induce errors, finding that with sufficient context, it was nearly impossible to mislead the AI. This exercise not only demonstrated the critical role of context in generative AI but also provided practical insights into its operation, helping students to better understand and utilise AI in their studies and future careers.
